PAID SOCIAL

S.02

Is paid social worth the investment?

Facebook and Instagram reach billions of active users, which is a lot of potential customers. Run efficiently, paid social adds serious value to a local business.

You can use it as a branding tool, optimising campaigns to reach as many local people as possible. Or you can use it to drive revenue, being surgical with targeting to show your ad to the people most likely to convert.

For a business that serves a place, the radius is the point: there’s no sense paying to reach people three counties away. We build audiences around your actual service area, your customer demographics and their interests.

Knowing how to set up an ad to achieve your specific goal is the hard part, and it’s exactly where an expert pays for themselves.

What does a paid social agency do?

We plan, build and run your campaigns: audience research, creative direction, copy, formats (video, image, carousel, collection), budgets and testing.

We build multi-level strategies with different campaigns and ads to reach buyers at different stages of the funnel, from the person who’s never heard of you to the one who abandoned your booking form last night.

Our specialists know what creative works for someone at the start of their journey, and what format closes someone who’s almost ready. That full-funnel thinking is what separates profitable paid social from boosted posts.

Whatever your goals are, we’ll help set up your accounts, create and run your campaigns, and design ads that work. The right people, the right ad, the right moment.

What does paid social cost?

Our management starts at £500 per month, covering paid social and Google Ads together.

Starting price From £500 per month

Your ad budget sits on top of that and is set with you, because it depends entirely on how many people in your area are actually worth reaching. For a business serving one town that audience is small, which works in your favour: it does not take a large budget to cover it properly, and a modest spend concentrated on the right postcodes beats a bigger one sprayed across a county.

There is no minimum term, and we would rather tell you paid social is the wrong tool for your business than take a fee for running it badly.

Who you are talking to, and what you say to them

Nobody scrolling a feed was looking for you. That makes paid social two problems rather than one: finding the right stage of customer, then giving that stage something worth stopping for.

Questions, answered

Q.01 How much does paid social management cost? +

Management starts at £500 per month, covering paid social and Google Ads together, with no minimum term. Your ad budget is separate and set with you based on your area and the size of the audience worth reaching. For a business serving a single town that audience is small, which is a good thing: it means the budget does not need to be large to cover it properly.

Q.02 Does paid social actually work for local businesses? +

It works for a narrower set of jobs than paid search, and it is worth being clear about which. Someone on Google typing “emergency plumber near me” is ready now. Someone on Instagram is not looking for you at all. Paid social earns its place on demand you can create rather than demand you capture: a new clinic opening, a seasonal offer, a service people did not know they wanted, and above all remarketing to people who already visited your site and did not book.

Q.03 Facebook and Instagram ads, or Google Ads? +

If you can only fund one and you sell something people actively search for, start with Google. Paid social comes into its own once search is covered, when you want to build recognition in your area, reach people before they start searching, or bring back the ones who nearly booked. Most local budgets are better split than spent entirely on either.

Q.04 How small can my targeting area be? +

Small enough to matter. You can build audiences around a radius, specific towns and postcode areas, then layer on the demographics and interests that describe your actual customers. For a business that serves a place, that radius is the whole point: there is no sense paying to reach people three counties away.

Q.05 Do I need to make videos for social ads? +

It helps, but it does not need to be a production. Real photographs of your team, your premises and your finished work usually outperform polished stock, because they look like a business rather than an advert. If you do want proper photography or video, our sister company Biztour does it, and it is available as an add-on rather than something you have to arrange yourself.

Q.06 Who owns the ad account and the audiences? +

You do. We build in your own business manager wherever possible, so the account, the pixel data and the audiences you have built stay with you. Audience and pixel history takes months to accumulate, so it is worth more than it looks on the way out.
